Originally from Madison, North Carolina, Ross Knight began working at NCSSM in 2012 as a Community Coordinator. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in English and history. While at UNC he served as a resident advisor for three years and as a Substance Free Living Learning Community Coordinator for two years. After college he worked at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise as the community coordinator for a building of first-year college students. At NCSSM, Ross enjoys committee work and has served on several school-wide committees each year including Summer Reading, Admissions, Mini-Term, Scholarship, Strategic Planning, and Code of Conduct Review. For two years Ross served as one of the two RLA Coordinators. In this role, he was responsible for the selection, training, and managing of NCSSM’s 65 RLAs. Since 2018 Ross has served as a Senior Community Coordinator where he manages a duty shift, supervises other CCs, and helps provide leadership to the Community Coordinator staff. Ross has a passion for all things geeky and shares that passion with the NCSSM community in several ways. He holds an annual campus-wide Geek Games Competition, has sponsored several clubs including ones dedicated to Magic the Gathering and Pokémon, and regularly hosts Dungeons and Dragons games for students. He also has co-sponsored the Muggle’s Guide to Harry Potter Mini-Term and the Capes and Culture Mini-Term. Ross has also shared his passion for painting with the community via his show “This is What Makes Me” in 2017.
