Fiona Hasanaj joined NCSSM in August 2025 as a part-time Community Coordinator on our Durham campus. Before NCSSM, she served as a Teaching Assistant in introductory biology labs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she guided students through hands-on experiments and led course instruction. She also worked as a Patient Safety Observer at UNC Health for three years, ensuring patient well-being and collaborating closely with medical staff to provide attentive care. Fiona’s academic background reflects her strong interest in the intersections of science, health, and society. Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, she is a devoted coffee enthusiast and enjoys exploring fashion as a form of creativity and self-expression. She is passionate about creating community and supporting students in both their academic and personal growth.
