Class of 2029 Application Information

The application process for the Class of 2029 will open on Thursday, October 15, 2026, and close on Tuesday, January 5, 2027, at 11:59 PM.

Standardized Testing (SAT and/or ACT) Waived

The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics Standardized testing (SAT, ACT, etc.) requirements for the Class of 2029 are currently under review. We will announce the official policy on testing requirements the moment a decision is finalized.

UNC System Partnership Events

Join us for an informative session that will cover a range of topics, including:

Ninth and tenth-grade students and their parents are invited to learn about the unique educational partnership between UNC System institutions and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM).

NCSSM Graduates Receive Guaranteed Admission and Waived Tuition to UNC System Universities

The UNC System Board of Governors approved a new policy guaranteeing residential program graduates admission to any UNC System institution — which includes 16 universities across North Carolina. Additionally, the state budget passed by the NC General Assembly and signed by the governor includes both a four-year tuition grant for NCSSM graduates to attend a UNC System institution and a provision for state payment of AP testing fees for NCSSM students.
