Emma Sophia Stanion joined NCSSM in November 2024 as a Community Coordinator on our Durham campus. She is pleased to be on 3rd Beall, where her mother lived in the ’80s. Emma Sophia studied economics and psychology at Swarthmore College before deciding she wanted to travel to learn more about the world. She then taught English in South Korea and South Harlem. Now, she is excited to be back in Durham near her family and to share her hometown with students. In her free time she enjoys writing poetry, knowing way too much about pop music, and traveling to places with good food.
