Megan Alvord, a North Carolina native, joined NCSSM as an Instructor of Physics in September of 2021. Megan has been working with students of physics for many years now, starting as a physics TA her senior year at NCSSM to seven years of varied physics courses in North Carolina public schools. She is excited to bring her experience back to where her physics journey began. Her undergraduate degrees are in physics and secondary science education from North Carolina State University and her master’s is in physics from Texas A&M at Commerce. Megan’s peak experience in physics was touring the Compact Muon Solenoid at CERN, 100 meters below Geneva, Switzerland. In her spare time, Megan loves to read, explore new places, and stare at coins.
