Whitt Daniel joined NCSSM in August 2023 as a Counseling Services Intern on the Morganton campus. Whitt is a second-year student in the Master of Arts program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Appalachian State University and the Graduate Certificate program for Addictions Counseling. He received his B.A. in psychology from UNC-Wilmington where he was involved with academic coaching and community leadership. Whitt is interested in gaining experience with the adolescent population, school-based mental health, and multicultural competency. He is passionate about expanding mental health resources in schools, integrating arts-based therapies in school-based counseling services, and supporting students in their college and/or career planning process. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, spending time with his pets, and playing pickleball. A few of his favorite things are coffee, houseplants, and soccer.
