Scott Schwartz, a member of NCSSM’s Class of 2006, joined the school’s faculty in 2016. Before joining NCSSM Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology from UNC-Chapel Hill and his master’s degree in professional school counseling from Appalachian State University, and worked with summer programs before completing his counseling internship here at NCSSM. In addition to his work as a counselor, he teaches sections of College and Career planning and is the faculty sponsor and instructor for the NCSSM Martial Arts Club. He can frequently be seen walking the halls, talking with students and faculty. He is extremely passionate about helping students navigate the college application process, and oversees the counseling department’s Peer Counseling Coordinator program. In his free time he loves lifting weights, spending time with his family, and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
