Damon Toone is a graduate student from North Carolina Central University’s Department of Counseling and Higher Education. As an undergraduate student at UNC-Chapel Hill, he cared deeply about sharing his college experience and the gift of higher education with outstanding students. After time in corporate America and teaching, he was privileged to recruit outstanding students for UNC and share his vision of the transformative nature of higher education before deciding to take his own advice and return to school. Now, as a proud NCCU Eagle, he is preparing to serve as a professional school counselor and licensed clinical mental health professional. When not working or completing grad school assignments, he enjoys spending time with his partner and recent college grads and participating in his family’s book club. His favorite motto: “shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you’ll land amongst the stars!”
