Joined NCSSM in June 2022

Fayez Kurdi joined NCSSM in June 2022 as an Instructor of World Languages on the Morganton campus. He has taught various levels of Spanish and Arabic language and humanities courses at Durham Technical and Piedmont community colleges as well as Elon University. He earned his B.S. and M.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from North Carolina State University, and also holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Damascus University in Syria. Fayez’s interests include reading, writing, and speaking proficiently in multiple languages, including Arabic, English, Spanish, and French. Fayez is fascinated by the cultural, historical, and literary connections and diversity in the various countries and continents where these languages are spoken. Fayez also enjoys traveling; he has visited more than 12 countries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He also loves listening to music and playing classical guitar. His wife is also a teacher who currently teaches in an American school in Kuwait, and both of his parents were teachers as well.   BS and MA, Spanish, North Carolina State University BS, Mechanical Engineering, Damascus University, Syria
