Daniel Hartman joined NCSSM in February 2026 as an Instructor of Mathematics on our Morganton campus. Prior to this role, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, where he worked on understanding the uncanny realm of 4-dimensions. Originally from Michigan, Daniel moved to Georgia to pursue his education. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of West Georgia in 2017, his master’s degree from Florida State University in 2019, and completed his doctorate in 2024 at the University of Georgia. Daniel enjoys sharing his passion for mathematics with everyone. While at FSU and UGA, he taught precalculus and calculus, and at UWG, worked as a tutor and peer-mentor for mathematics, physics, and chemistry. He has volunteered with UGA’s Math Circle, a community outreach program, and served as a camp counselor for Camp Euclid, a math camp for pre-college students.
