Lauren Huntley joined NCSSM in August 2022 as an Instructor of Mathematics on the Durham campus. Lauren is a North Carolina native, originally from the town of Monroe. She moved to the Raleigh area in 2000 to study mathematics education at North Carolina State University, and has been here ever since. For 17 years, Lauren was an instructor at Apex High School in Wake County where she taught a wide variety of high school math classes from Math 1 to AP Statistics. Lauren earned National Board certification in 2010, and has worked as an AP Reader as well. When she’s not teaching or learning math, Lauren enjoys running, backpacking, reading, and traveling. Her treks include the Laugavegur trail in Iceland and the Four Pass Loop in Colorado.
