College & Career Planning

College & Career Planning

NCSSM is committed to supporting students as they navigate the college application process. The following college planning resources are available for students:

Individual & Group College Planning Sessions

Students are encouraged to direct their college planning questions to their School Counselor for support. Mandatory and optional meetings will be held throughout the year for all students to discuss important aspects of the college application process and scholarships.

College Representative Visits

College representatives visit NCSSM throughout the year, with a majority of the visits occurring during the fall semester.

College & Career Planning

Students will enroll in the College and Career Planning course during the second semester of their junior year. The class is co-taught by counselors and residential education instructors and provides a wealth of information about the college application process.

Financial Assistance Program

Families and guardians who would like to be considered for financial assistance, including fee waivers, should visit the Financial Assistance webpage. If approved, students can receive PSAT, SAT, ACT, and college admission fee waivers.

SchooLinks

SchooLinks is the college and career readiness platform NCSSM Counseling Services uses to help students prepare for what comes after graduation. Using SchooLinks, students can access career interest surveys, explore college profiles, learn about financial aid, search for internships, volunteer opportunities, and scholarships – and more. Seniors will be able to use SchooLinks to track college applications and request transcripts and letters of recommendation. NCSSM students and families can log in to SchooLinks via their NCSSM Google accounts.
