Dr. Todd Roberts was named chancellor of NCSSM in 2010. During his tenure, NCSSM has planned, constructed and welcomed students to a second campus in Morganton, N.C., and benefitted from a landmark $50-million fundraising campaign with the NCSSM Foundation, which is helping to enable major renovations on the original Durham campus and improving the student experience and reach of the school’s programs. A native of Durham born in Watts Hospital, which would later become the NCSSM-Durham campus, he began his education career as a Durham Public Schools teacher and principal before serving as superintendent of Ann Arbor Public Schools in Michigan.
