Paulette Verdell Becoat joined the NCSSM Foundation and Development team as a Donor Relations Officer in June 2022. In this role she is responsible for fundraising support, database management and reporting, event logistics, and stewardship. Her experience encompasses disciplines ranging from research and data collection at Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill to fundraising and community outreach at the American Diabetes Association. Paulette began her studies in industrial engineering, fueling her interest in project management. Her nonprofit, member recruitment, business development, fundraising, and special events experience was acquired at the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association and the Downtown Raleigh Alliance respectively. Before coming to NCSSM, Paulette was the assistant director of stewardship services at UNC-Chapel Hill in the University Development Office, where she managed the annual endowment reports, served on the Chancellor’s Naming Committee, and performed survey analyses and benchmarking studies. She resides in Raleigh, NC, with her husband, Rufus, and enjoys gardening, music, reading, traveling, and decorating.
