David Jandrew joined the staff at NCSSM in September 2023 as Director of Development on our Morganton campus. He came to NCSSM following a six-year stint at UNC Asheville as the Associate Athletic Director of External Operations. In this role, he oversaw the athletic units of development, communications, marketing, ticketing, and broadcasting. Prior to UNC Asheville, David served in fundraising roles at Lenoir-Rhyne University, USC Upstate, UNC Charlotte, and The First Tee of Greater Charlotte. Before pivoting to advancement work, he served as a college basketball coach for eight years with time spent at Western Carolina, VMI, and UNC Wilmington. In addition, he taught high school social studies and coached basketball for five years before moving to the collegiate ranks. David earned his bachelor’s degree in history at UNC Charlotte, and his master’s degree in sports administration at St. Thomas University in Florida. He lives in Morganton with his wife, Jeannie (a principal with Burke County Schools), and their son, Jack.
