Justin Fleming is the interim Chief Information Officer (CIO). A native of Thomasville, NC, he graduated from NCSSM in 2004 and UNC-Chapel Hill in 2008. While a student at UNC-CH, Justin provided tech support at the IT Response Center and then worked as a campus representative for Apple. Upon graduation, Justin worked in IT support and project management at MIT for five years. In 2010, Justin married his high school sweetheart, CJ Fleming ’04, a professor of psychology at Elon University. They returned to North Carolina in the summer of 2013, where he supported IT at Duke’s School of Medicine until 2016 when he returned to NCSSM as an application administrator and trainer. Justin became Deputy CIO in January of 2021 and was appointed Interim CIO in April 2024. In his spare time, he enjoys gadgets, reading, gaming, and travel.
