Course Description:

Math In Motion is a course that will allow math concepts to transcend the classroom. In this course, students will look at Exponential and Logarithmic Functions and apply them to the financial decisions they will make post-graduation. This course aims to not only provide sound structure to the concept but to relate the material in a manner that produces financially literate scholars. Students will heavily explore the Compound Interest formula and understand its importance in everything from choosing the right bank account to managing a healthy credit score. Students will participate in a simulation that allows them to pick a career, home, and car and then maneuver through life’s decisions using either impulse or the formulas learned. The anticipation is that students will begin to look at math from a broader vantage point and see that the lessons learned in secondary settings have a life-long impact.
