This course provides a basic survey of human biology. Emphasis is placed on the basic structure and function of body systems and the medical terminology used to describe normal and pathological states. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of normal anatomy and physiology and the appropriate use of medical terminology.

About The Instructor:
Dr. Rega Lalithkumar is a biology instructor at Gaston College. In addition to teaching content, she mentors students about time management, learning skills and productivity. Dr. Lalithkumar’s current research focuses on helping students to reduce test anxiety. The soft skills that Dr. Lalithkumar has been emphasizing on in her classrooms has tremendously helped her students with reducing test anxiety.
