“The Beauty of Mathematics” by Peter Rosbjerg, CC BY-ND 2.0
NCSSM math faculty have provided materials that can be used in an AP Calculus course after students complete their AP exams. These are investigative activities that allow students to use mathematics in real world situations. In one activity, students use calculus to model the spread of infectious disease. In another, students utilize combat models as they learn about the Battle of Trafalgar. In another activity, students learn how calculus is used in modern economics. Lesson plans include all materials needed to lead students in the activities.
