Online Recognition Ceremony

2026 NCSSM Online Recognition Ceremony

Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10 a.m.

Location: Charles R. Eilber Physical Education Center at NCSSM-Durham
Seniors: RSVP to the Online Recognition Ceremony here.

Guests: The ceremony is open to NCSSM Online seniors and their family members. Each senior may bring a maximum of 6 guests (not including themselves). This event is closed to the general public. 

Seating: Guests may arrive on campus starting at 8:30 a.m. Families will go directly to the PEC, while seniors will check in at the ETC Lobby. There is no assigned seating. We ask that everyone be in their seats by no later than 9:45 a.m.

Ceremony: Remarks from the Chancellor and Student Speaker and recognition of Panoff and Golden Catalyst award winners. Awarding of certificates will conclude the ceremony.

Professional Photographer: Strawbridge Studios will take professional photographs of each senior as they receive their certificate. A copy of this photograph will be mailed to each senior during the summer, courtesy of Academic Programs.

Livestream: The entire event will be streamed live on the NCSSM YouTube channel.

Post-Ceremony Reception: A small reception will immediately follow the Online Recognition Ceremony. In addition to light refreshments being served, alumni T-shirts will be distributed by the Online Resource Coordinators.


Coming to NCSSM

RSVP for Online Recognition Ceremony

Each student in the NCSSM Online Class of 2026 will be asked to fill out a Google form notifying NCSSM if they plan to participate in the Online Recognition Ceremony. That form will be shared with seniors via email and should be submitted by Wednesday, April 29. If a senior will not attend the ceremony, their certificate and medallion will either be mailed to their home later in the summer or they can designate someone to pick up their items at the Ceremony.

The restrooms in the PEC and Bryan Lobby will be open and cleaned periodically.


Dress code for seniors

Seniors should wear their regalia from their home high school. If you do not have regalia, you may borrow from a sibling or friend. You can also indicate on the RSVP form that you do not have access to regalia, and we will contact you regarding borrowing regalia. Students are not permitted to decorate their caps. All seniors must wear appropriate attire underneath their regalia. Examples are listed below.

If a student has any questions about whether an item of clothing is acceptable or not, email Mr. Boerner (boerner@ncssm.edu) a photo of the item for approval.


Parking and Accessibility

All visitors are asked to park in the main lot, which is parallel to West Club Boulevard.

A limited number of disabled accessible parking spaces are available. Cars must have their disabled parking permit in order to utilize an accessible parking space on campus. Please email boerner@ncssm.edu by April 29 to reserve a space. Requests made after April 29 are not guaranteed to be filled.

Disabled accessible seating is available upon request. Please email boerner@ncssm.edu by April 29 to reserve a spot in this section. Due to limited spacing, entire parties cannot be accommodated in this section. Requests made after April 29 are not guaranteed to be filled.
