NCSSM’s Class of 2016 graduates are headed this fall to a wide range of colleges and universities across the country, from small private liberal arts colleges such as Middlebury and Hampshire College to large state universities.
According to the Class of 2016 college matriculation list compiled by the Office of Counseling Services:
- 208 students, or 68 percent of the Class of 2016, are staying in North Carolina to go to college.
- 175 students, or 57 percent of the Class of 2016, are attending a University of North Carolina institution.
Those numbers nearly mirror last year’s, when 63 percent of the Class of 2015 chose to attend college within North Carolina and 56 percent attended a UNC constituent school.
In all, 305 new grads will attend 71 different colleges and universities. Two students are choosing to take a gap year.
