NASA astronaut and NCSSM alumna Christina Hammock Koch ’97 has been assigned to a NASA spaceflight set to launch to the International Space Station in April 2019. Read the full announcement from NASA.

Koch, who grew up in Jacksonville, North Carolina, graduated from NCSSM in 1997 before earning bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and physics and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from fellow UNC System school NC State University.
