Jonathan McDowell joined NCSSM in December of 2025 as Executive Director of Facilities Operations and Capital Projects for our Durham campus. Prior to joining NCSSM, Jonathan served as Vice President of Operations for a general contractor and as Senior Project Manager for Durham Public Schools and Wake County Public Schools, both located in North Carolina, where he led the design, development and construction of multiple projects ranging from building renovations to ground-up construction. Working in the construction industry since 1998, Jonathan has many years of experience leading facilities operations, capital construction, and organizational improvements across education, government, and commercial sectors. Jonathan brings the expertise to ensure our facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with our long-term strategic goals. When he is not volunteering for local charity events, Jonathan enjoys spending time working on his classic cars and spending quality time with his wife and two children and their dog, Atlas.
