Janine Brumfield joined NCSSM in March 2025 as Alumni Relations Director, where she leads efforts to engage and strengthen connections within the alumni community. Janine is passionate about building lasting relationships, and brings years of expertise to NCSSM. Before joining the External Relations team, she spent nearly a decade at NC State University, where she led public relations and internal communications for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Outside of work, Janine lives in Durham with her husband, two kids, and their aging fluffy dog. When she’s not working on alumni programs, you can find her escaping to the North Carolina Coast, supporting local youth sports, or heading into her garden.
