Toon Boom Animation: Storyboard Pro

Toon Boom Animation is a software program that allows students to draw, animate or add special effects to create content of their choice. In this course students will explore storyboarding, scripting, camera controls, animatic creation capabilities and sound. Does the student like the idea of creating animated stories but insecure about their drawing skills? No problem! The Toon Boom program has hundreds of characters, images and backgrounds to select from and use while learning the same animation techniques as their peers. By the end of this course students will have been guided through the core concepts of animating in Storyboard Pro. They will also have a short project they created to show for it!

Her teaching journey began in special education, where she honed her ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans to meet the unique needs of every learner. As a seasoned educator, Downing transitioned seamlessly between elementary, middle, and high school settings, demonstrating her adaptability and versatility. Her dynamic teaching methods, combined with a keen understanding of individual learning styles, have consistently resulted in elevated student performance and achievement. Downing’s passion for STEM education has led her to integrate innovative and hands-on learning experiences into her curriculum with a focus on Project-Based Learning, sparking curiosity and critical thinking among her AIG students. Her dedication to staying current with the latest advancements in education technology and pedagogy has kept her at the forefront of effective teaching practices. Over the course of her teaching career, she recognized the increasing importance of technology in education and sought opportunities to enhance her skills in emerging fields. Driven by a desire to provide her students with cutting-edge learning experiences, she undertook specialized training in computer animation storyboarding.
With a forward-thinking mindset, she delved into the world of digital media and animation, acquiring expertise in industry-standard software and techniques.
