Course Description:

Discover the fascinating world of DNA in a hands-on, inquiry-driven camp designed to spark curiosity, build real lab skills, and explore the science behind all living things. Over five immersive days, students will become DNA detectives, unlocking the mysteries hidden in every cell while learning how scientists study traits, diversity, and genetics in the real world.

Through exciting activities, campers will:

Decode DNA sequences and create personalized “gene bracelets”

Build and engineer giant DNA models and animal designs

Practice lab skills like micropipetting and loading gels

Explore genetic diversity and conservation in field trips to science centers or wildlife labs

Solve DNA mystery challenges that connect science to real-world careers

This camp blends STEM, problem-solving, and creativity, giving students the tools to think like a scientist while having fun. By the end of the week, they’ll have tangible take-home projects, a deeper understanding of genetics, and inspiration for future scientific explorations.
