GeoBites: Where Maps and Meals Meet

Course Description:

Students will practice being budding geographers and dive into the world of food geography! This hands-on class introduces students to local food systems, individual food habits, and basic mapping skills. They’ll learn how food makes its way from farms to markets to tables, and how their own communities play a role in food production. Through creative activities like mapping local food landscapes, students will develop an understanding of how geography shapes what we eat. Plus, they’ll tackle real-world food issues, such as food access and sustainability, all while gaining skills in problem-solving and teamwork.
