Design, Build, Code (EA)

This course introduces students to the world of robotics through the Engineering Design Process. Students will design a robot, code it to control speed, navigate obstacles, and complete tasks. They will also design and 3D print a device to improve their robot’s performance in a final challenge. By the end of the course, students will gain hands-on experience in robotics, coding, and 3D design, applying their knowledge in a collaborative, creative environment.

Mrs. Blaire Miller has 20+ years experience as a high school CTE Technology teacher and middle school math teacher. She coordinates Catawba County Schools annual SumoFest and is a longtime member of the CCS STEM Task Force. She serves as The Mechanical Minds FIRST Robotics Competition # 6639 lead mentor. (Her team of thirty students design, fabricate, program and test a competitive, industrial robot in eight weeks.) She is Catawba County Schools 2023 NCCAT CTE Teacher of the Year.
