Faculty Emeritus

Joined NCSSM in August 1994

I am on the faculty of the Humanities Department and an instructor in the World Languages Discipline. As such, I offer mainly courses in Advanced Spanish and Spanish Readings with Topics to mixed classes of juniors and seniors. In addition, I act as an advisor to a small group of incoming juniors and rising seniors, assisting them with academic scheduling and goal setting while at NCSSM. My committee work at NCSSM has included the following: Scholarship, Mini Term, Technology, Admissions, Faculty Evaluation, Hearing Board and other. For many years I taught Spanish, German and/or English at the Intermediate, Secondary and Post Secondary levels in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts as well as in Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I am fascinated by language and its myriad forms of expression as well as by different peoples and their cultures. I enjoy supporting others in the acquisition of the skills of communication in the one and a deeper appreciation and respect of the other.
