Ondin Mihalcescu joined NCSSM in May 2024 as Director of Capital Projects for our Durham campus. Before NCSSM, he worked as project manager at Salas O’Brien, a national engineering firm, and prior to that he served as director of the Planning, Design & Construction Department at North Carolina Central University. During his tenure as director, the university experienced the biggest period of growth in its over 100 years of existence. Ondin strives to promote NCSSM’s mission through strategic analysis, transparent communication, consensus, and teamwork. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son, and their bernedoodle, Ziggy. He loves cycling, watching soccer matches of his favorite club, Liverpool FC, and Formula 1 races.
