Katie O’Connor joined the NCSSM team in the summer of 2015 as Vice Chancellor for Academic Programs. Prior to coming to NCSSM, Katie was an associate professor in the College of Education at East Carolina University beginning in 2003, and she transitioned to the Honors College in 2010, holding the roles of Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Director of EC Scholars. Katie earned a bachelor’s degree from Catawba College, a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, while concurrently teaching in the Orange County Public School System for nine years.
