Karl Coleman joined NCSSM in 2003. He is the Broadcast & Operations Manager for NCSSM Distance Education & Extended Programs Department. There he supervises a staff of Digital Media Specialist responsible for broadcasting live interactive distance education classes to high schools through out North Carolina. In addition, he advises the appropriateness and feasibility of audiovisual media utilization and establishing parameters for the distance education technical needs for the instructional programming, along with coordinating technical efforts for NC public schools to connect to the live NCSSM IVC classes. Karl is a creative and versatile media professional with over 40 years of experience in public, corporate and commercial television with strong skills in writing, producing documentaries, promos, commercials and live televised events. His background includes managing television production staffs and operation and maintenance of television production and satellite equipment. He has produced training tapes and distance learning courses for the US EPA Air Pollution Distance Learning Network and directed informational and public affairs programs for Public Television.
