Durham native Jeff Smith was born at Watts Hospital, the current site of NCSSM. He worked at Cree Inc. for 14 years before coming to NCSSM as a facilities maintenance manager. He enjoys being a dad to his daughter and son, and his hobbies include deep sea fishing and hiking.
