Course Description:
Students will explore the world of cryptozoology as they research legendary creatures from all around the world. Learners will engage with primary and secondary sources as they uncover the uncertainties of nature, curate curious cryptid chronicles, and analyze an author’s attitude through inferencing and the usage of explicit textual evidence.

Students will analyze primary and secondary sources as they explore an undiscovered and scientifically unclassified creature (ie. Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Mothman). Using these sources students will analyze the the author’s purpose in addition to any potential bias in favor of or in opposition to the existence of the reported creature. Students will then construct a final product that outlines their findings and their stance on the potential existence of their selected creature.
