If you are new to Programming Begin by visiting installUNIX.php Follow its instructions. You will be an Ubuntu user once you are done. Boot into Ubuntu, bring this page up on the Firefox browser there, and then carry out the instructions in the next paragraph.
Attention Ubuntu Users Begin by visiting The Linux Support Page. Get your vi editor in shape. Then visit the sources.list page so you will be able to get the accoutrements shown here.
- The document installUNIX.php will help you to get Linux installed for introductory programming
- The document installJava.php contains instructions for installing Java and getting it working for CS404.
- The document installWeb.php contains instructions for preparing your machine to do web development. This is necessary for Chapter 2 of CS 402.
- The document installPython.php contains instructions for installing Python on your lappy so you may program in your native operating system.
- The document CS408.php will help you to get the TECS software suite installed on your lappy. Instructions are supplied for Mac and Windoze. The Mac instructions will work on Linux too.
