Items Not Permitted In Student Rooms
Any of the following items found in use in student rooms could result in a Level II or III violation for endangering others! No exceptions! Other items may be added as necessary.

- Matches, lighters and other flame-producing devices
- Incense and incense burning devices
- Candles
- Hot plates

- Coffee makers
- Microwave ovens
- Toaster ovens

- Sandwich makers
- Electric grills (George Foreman, etc.)
- Portable heaters
- Electric blankets
- All appliances exceeding 200 watts unless approved by the Director or Asst. Director of Plant Facilities
- Humidifiers or dehumidifiers without a medical statement and prior approval by the Director of Residential Life
- Wicker or plastic lampshades

Items Permitted In Student Rooms
- Portable refrigerators (not more than two 4.4 cubic feet appliances per room and not to exceed 2 amperes)

- UL listed strips with fuse or surge breaker protection (may not be attached anywhere in room)
- Electric curling iron or brush (with automatic shut-off); Hair dryer (all must be unplugged after use)
- Desk or floor lamps with fireproof shades
- Cellular phones
