The agency aims to connect and engage people to enhance their lives and build community . It reaches out to helping build a healthier community in mind, spirit, and body. It aims to strengthen family relationships as well as build bridges between diverse individuals, organizations and communities. It also provides leadership by challenging individuals to improve their community. They accomplish this through their many programs, camps and life-building opportunities.

Impact the Agency Has Made on the Community

The YMCA has been a part of the Greater Charlotte for 135 years. Today, it touches more than 265,000 lives annually through 18 branches and 2 resident camps. The YMCA of Greater Charlotte lives out its not-for-profit, charitable mission by providing life-changing programs and services that enrich people from all walks of life. It also provides over $5 million in financial assistance to keep YMCA programs and services available to all.
