Agency’s Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Volunteer Services is to provide outstanding customer service through the knowledgeable, competent hands and compassionate hearts of will trained volunteers.

Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served

The people the volunteers encounter receive care and attention that a nurse may not have time to give. The volunteers make the patron’s stay at the hospital a less stressful experience. They also assist the nurses with their tasks.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

Volunteers brighten the stressful day a person at the hospital may be having. Nurses have a lesser workload because of the volunteers, so they are able to get more done.

Volunteer Duties

• Help patient and family with simple tasks such as bed making, water, discharges from hospital, etc.
• Help nurses with paperwork, phone calls, and errands.
• Help direct patient and visitors around the hospital.
