Agency‘s Mission Statement:

The Green Room Community Theatre is a non-profit organization dedicated to the strengthening of the quality of life in Catawba County and surrounding communities through the preservation and growth of dramatic arts.

Agency’s goals and programs offered to clients/people served:

The Green Room has 6 main stage productions that are presented in the auditorium at the Newton-Conover Auditorium located at the corner of West 6th Street and Ashe Avenue, near downtown Newton, NC. Activities for the youth include 4 different programs: The Green Bean Players, Creative Works, Theatre Works, and the Summer Theatre Institute.

The impact the agency has made on the community:

The Green Room’s shows include high quality actors, but the admission prices for shows are low, allowing for all of the community to enjoy the wonderful world of dramatic arts locally. The show provides opportunities for people of all ages to practice acting skills and gain knowledge from other actors, as well as open opportunities for technical professionals to practice lighting and sound works. As a whole, the Green room produces a positive impact upon the Newton-Conover area through artistic and technical education, as well as entertainment for all ages.
