Agency’s Mission Statement

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief of victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Agency’s Goals and Programs Offered to Clients/People Served

The Red Cross strives to create a safe community by providing disaster and safety preparedness workshops to community members of all ages. In addition, the Red Cross helps those in need when faced with an emergency such as a fire, flood, or relief after severe weather, such as a tornado or hurricane, providing food, shelter, and occasionally monetary support. Also, the Red Cross is the community chief resource for blood donations.

Impact the Agency Has Made on the Community

The Red Cross has saved many lives during emergency situations by providing support when disasters strike a person’s home and teaching basic safety to children and adults. In addition, the Red Cross provides aid to those in need across the world, particularly in the public health sector. Also, the Red Cross helps those servicing abroad in the armed forces.
