Agency’s Mission Statement

The Temple Theatre’s mission is to entertain, educate, and enlighten audiences of Central North Carolina through the art of live theatre, and to educate aspiring students in the arts.

Agency’s Goals and Programs Offered to Clients/People Served

The theatre performs 6-8 major mainstage productions each season for a variety of audiences. Each year, the theatre offers three youth “conservatories” which are designed to educate and grow North Carolina youth. Also, over 20 special events such as benefits, balls, concerts, and fundraisers are held at the Temple Theatre each year.

Impact the Agency Has Made on the Community

The Temple Theatre’s shows, programs, and conservatories draw in nearly 30,000 people each season alone. Of this number, 6,000 are children in educational programs and shows. The Temple Theatre offers the only professional theatre programming in all of the county. Also, the Temple supports other non-profit organizations, civic groups, and schools through fundraising.

Volunteer Duties

• Running sound and music for the Temple Theatre’s youth summer conservatories
• Helping with props and sets as well as some education in acting
