The Mission of the Sarah P. Duke Gardens is to create and nurture an environment for learning, inspiration, and enjoyment.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

The Gardens provide a location for peaceful enjoyment of nature for both the Duke community and the wider Durham community. The Gardens are recognized as a model for stewardship of the natural world through conservation, research, and sustainable environmental practices.
