Mission Statement:

To give teens a second chance.

Agency’s Goals and Programs:

Teen Court strives to reduce repeat offenses by youth, to change the offender’s attitude towards law enforcement, to have youth offenders held accountable for their actions, and to promote positive peer pressure.

Agency Impact on Community:

Since Sampson County Teen Court’s inception, all juveniles that have completed the program have not been charged again. Some former defendants have chosen to train and not actively participate as Teen Court volunteers.

Volunteer Duties:

• Setting up the incoming defendants
• Introducing the incoming defendants to Teen Court
• Acting as a bailiff, a jury member, a clerk, and a lawyer during summer trials
