Agency’s Goals and Programs:
Pitt County Memorial Hospital is a regional resource for all levels of health services & information and provides acute, intermediate rehabilitation, and outpatient services to people in 29 counties. It is also a teaching hospital for many health professionals and is the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at ECU.
Agency Impact on Community:
The hospital provides healthcare services to over 1.3 million people in 29 counties in Eastern NC and averages about 33,000 inpatients and 266,000 outpatients treated a year. It also provides employment for many young people, with over 900 physicians and 1,200 nurses.
Volunteer Duties:
- Working in the Central Transport Unit
- Admitting and discharging patients
- Delivering lab specimens and materials
- Assisting staff with patients on stretchers
