Agency Mission Statement:
To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Agency Goals and Programs:
BSA’s goal is to make every Scout and Venturer show the values set forth in the Scout Oath and Law. BSA offers Cub Scouting for boys in 5th grade or less, Boy Scouting for boys from age 10/11 through 18, and Venturing for boys and girls from 14 to 20. Adults can also volunteer in any program.
Agency Impact:
BSA provides a good environment and good role models for young people who may not normally have either. BSA instills good morals and a sense of citizenship in children and adolescents, providing the community with successful adults. BSA programs provide boys and girls with good experiences that will last them a lifetime.
Volunteer Duties:
- Helping with a Cub Scout Day Camp at a local recreation center
- Helping local packs that go on weekend camp-outs
- Supervising young boys doing various activities
- Acting as a good role model
- Working with young scouts under age 10
