The mission of this agency is to build reciprocal relationships between individual communities in the world in order to improve the well-being of the poor, both locally and globally; to provide work with dignity; to end the circle of poverty; to preserve/strengthen indigenous cultural heritage; and to teach the community about the situation/lives/culture/tradition of people whose goods are sold.

One world market offers people in the community one of a kind handmade crafts from around the world. The craft sales ensure fair pay that provides a wage for thousands in developing nations and impoverished regions. One World Market also holds public events meant to educate people and/or raise money for other benefits.

Impact the agency has made on the community:

One World Market has been serving the Durham community for 15 years. They host events such as demonstrations, music, workshops, and games to benefit shcools and other non-profits. They also do presentaitons with groups to educate them about the cultures and techniques of the artisans.
