Agency’s Mission Statement

Oak Grove Elementary School’s mission, as stated on the school’s website, is as follows:

“We will maintain a supportive and stimulating environment so that our students develop a commitment to and passion for learning.”

Agency’s Goals and Progams offered to Clients/People Served

Oak Grove is a public school that offers primary education to children grades K-5. Core classes like math and reading are taught here to prepare students for higher levels of education in middle shcool, as well as “specials” like music, art, and PE, which help children develop in all areas as well-rounded people. Oak Grove also provides programs for students with special needs, including academically gifted (AG) students, visually impaired students, students with mental needs, and students learning English as a second language (ESL).

Agency’s Impact on the Community

As a North Carolina School of Distinction, Oak Grove has met all performance targets set by the No Child Left Behind Act in the last school year. By educating elementary school-age children, Oak Grove has helped enrich our community by paving the way for their children to become well-rounded, responsible, and mature adults in the future. The school’s vision is for staff members, parents, and students to work together to maintain a caring and  supportive environment so that students will learn to be active members of their communities.
