Agency’s Mission Statement

To preserve our natural resources and create education and service.

Agency’s Goals and Programs offered to Clients/People Served

This agency supports our state’s top industries – forest products, wood and paper products, and tourism. This agency also tests and analyzes our water supply for bacteria and other toxins. It helps provide solutions to make sure we have the natural resources we need in the future.

Agency’s Impact on the Community

The Center for Applied Aquatic Ecology has done research in cyanobacteria in water reservoirs in North Carolina, and has also done projects that help protect wildlife habitats such as estuaries and rivers. CNR has worked with NC State to install facilities that use less energy, and has also created  a golf course that does not destroy the trees and wildlife habitat.
