Agency’s Goals and Programs:

NCCE gives their residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T University. Through educational programs, publications, and events, CE field faculty deliver unbiased, research-based information to NC citizens. CE provides educational programming in five key areas: sustaining agriculture and forestry, protecting the environment, maintaining viable communities, developing responsible youth, and developing strong, healthy, and safe families.

Agency Impact on Community:

Educational programs are provided to civic groups, county agencies, businesses, and groups at large. Staff are located in the county working one-on-one on client requests through telephone, internet, and face-to-face visits.

Volunteer Duties:

  • Creating and running a summer camp for youth in grades 6th-8th that focuses on Science and Mathematics
  • Developing lesson plans
  • Purchasing needed supplies
  • Recruiting guest speakers
  • Coordinating the camp
