Agency’s Mission Statement:

Carolina Medical Center’s (CMC) mission is to make a positive contribution to the health of the people they serve by continually improving the quality and accessibility of their services.

Agency’s goals and programs offered to clients/people served:

The major goal that CMC is striving for is to become the healthcare provider of choice for the people in their region by providing an appropriate continuum of healthcare services. Some of the programs that are offered to clients/people are orientations for volunteers, babysitting/childcare classes, CPR instructional classes, support services, etc.

Impact agency has made on the community:

CMC -Union’s Nursing Center has provided a place in which senior citizens with disabilities or health problems can reside. They have helped the community by getting residents back on their feet or back to the homes that they came from and long for. The Jesse Helms Nursing Center also provides services such as therapy that helps residents regain their strength.

Volunteer Duties:

• Transporting residents to designated areas
• Performing and putting together activities for the residents
• Keeping track of patients records
• Delivering and reading mail
• Cleaning up meal dishes
• Visiting residents in their rooms.
